Testimonials

"Legacy Lives On" supported me and is supporting me in my most difficult time of my life, losing two of my cousins due to homicide. I have lost friends as well and Legacy is a support system or group for every neighborhood/community worldwide. I am very blessed to have this support system because they are not only supporting me, but also other families that are going through the same experiences or that have lost a loved one(s). We all have a story and through our stories, we began to heal and gain strength. We have each other to spiritually and mentally build each other back up. A Family/community that prays together, stays together. Our loved ones "Legacy Lives On”. They are Buried but Never Forgotten! RIP N.E.C AND MARQUIS.

I have lost many friends and some family over the years, many to the streets, some to domestic violence. Most recently I lost someone very dear to my heart. It was a very dark time for me. During this dark time, I was hurt and confused and questioning God. Although I am a believer, hatred and anger grew in my heart and mind. I decided to become a part of "Legacy Lives On". Through Legacy, I realized we all share one thing "PAIN" that pain coming from losing our Loved ones, (Our sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, uncles, aunts, family and friends etc.) Through Legacy I learned that although our loved ones may be gone physically, in spirit their Legacies and their lives live on through us and through each other, and although it gets hard and we get filled with emotions we are never alone, and that God gives Peace through suffering. I thank God for "Legacy Lives On." Legacy is a family. It is a life changer. It has helped me physically and spiritually. We will get through it one day at a time. Our loved ones are Buried and Never forgotten and their Legacies will forever live on.

On November 29, 2011 my life changed forever and in the worst way. My cousin was shot in the back of the head and left for dead. Words cannot describe the pain that hit me when I got that phone call. My family is really hurt, lost, confused, depressed, stressed out and torn into pieces but with all the love and support that we have received from "LEGACY LIVE ON." It has helped us get through this tragedy. We are not alone. There are many families going though this. Help us support one another and stay strong even though our loved ones are gone. It is so hard to move on in GOD but it is necessary.

My son Tyress Purdy was killed in 1992. I walked around with so much hurt an pain, there was no one who understood what I was going through. I finally found ways to work it out but not a day goes by that I do not feel the pain of losing my son. The difference today, is that I have LEGACY LIVES ON. There is now a place where I can go no matter the time of day or night and get the support I need. Also I am able to support others who are going through the pain of losing a loved one. With Legacy, you are not alone. It is not only for murdered children but for anyone who has lost a loved one. This has been a blessing to me. God has blessed this page (Legacy) with people who understand my good days and my bad days. There is always someone who is there to support, uplift and encourage me. I am so glad that I found LEGACY LIVES ON.
